In our emails, I found out that Chad was in a band. He said that he and his band played shows quite a bit and that I was welcome to come. I gave him my phone number, but never heard from him. By this point, I was kind of done with the whole online dating thing. I wrote Chad one last email and told him that I was cancelling my account, that he had my phone number, and that he could call me if he felt like it. He instantly wrote back and explained that he had been really busy at work and that his family was in town. I figured that it was just a made up excuse and closed up my account anyway.
About a week later I got one of those mass text messages from Chad saying that his band was playing. I sent a text back to him and let him know that was exciting and that maybe my roommate and I would come. We started texting back and forth and planned to "hang out" in a couple nights. Chad was really funny about it and kept saying that it didn't have to be a "date," we were just hanging out. On Friday, January 13, 2006- yes, Friday the 13th!- we had planned to have out little "hang out." He kept texting me the whole time about it. I had finally gotten tired of texting and told him that if he wanted directions to my apartment he would have to call me!
Chad picked me up, and of course he had absolutely no plans on what to do. We ended up just grabbing someting to eat and Rumbi and then hanging out at my apartment and just talked. Chad had picked me up at 7:30 that evening and did not leave my apartment until midnight! We had instabtly hit it off. Even though I wasn't quite sure where things would go, I knew that I for sure wanted him as a friend.
Chad and I had talked about getting married and I knew that he was the one for me. I figured October would have been a great time to get married. On February 22, 2006, we were headed out to a concert, and after just less then 5 weeks of dating, Chad proposed to me. It was a complete shock! I of course said yes and we were married on July 8, 2006. We were married in the LDS temple in Bountiful, Utah and it was the best day of our lives.
Nothing to be embarrassed about! That's a little better than Myspace! haha
